AB Cleaners Owner’s Wife, Daughter Among Victims in Copter-Plane Collision

Drycleaning community mourns deaths of Jin Hee Han, Jinna Han

WESTWOOD, Mass. — The drycleaning community is mourning the deaths of the wife and daughter of a Massachusetts dry cleaner who were killed Jan. 29 when a Black Hawk military helicopter collided with their American Airlines plane while it was on approach to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

There were no survivors among the 67 passengers and crew aboard the two aircraft.

Jin Hee Han, 49, was a Sunday school teacher at Korean Presbyterian Church in Greater Boston and actively served her community. Jinna Han, 13, was a gifted figure skater, training at the Skating Club of Boston, with aspirations of competing in the Olympics.

The wife and daughter of Joon Young Han, owner of AB Cleaners in Westwood, were returning from a figure skating development training camp in Kansas when the incident occurred.

Messages of condolence streamed in, including one from Seitz GmbH/Seitz Inc.

“Words cannot express the depth of sorrow we feel for Joon and his family during this unimaginable time,” say Alexander and Alix Seitz and Kurt Wickiser. “Jin and Jinna were cherished members of their community, whose warmth, kindness and vibrant spirits touched the lives of many. Their loss is felt not only within their family but also across the countless lives they impacted through their involvement in the Boston community, the global skating world and their church.”
